No, i disagree. There is no research saying that girls are smarter than boys. According to the biology books, there is no difference between boys' and girls' IQ. And, whether one is smart or not defined by the gender.
i do not agree whit it. Because there is no accurate data or servey to prove that girls are smarter than boy. And, smart or not is depens on your ownself. On the other hand, there was not any authority, 100 percent say that girls are smarter than boys. No metter how smart or stupid you are, its all rely on ourself, the destiny is on your hand!

Frist of all, there are not have any information or reserch that about this issue. on the other hand, both boys and girls are different, because they have different advantages and strength at different subjects ( base on students ). I don't agree with it. First, boy's physical development is later than girls. Because of this reason, they don't know importance study, they like to play rather than study hard. Girls study hard so that they performs better in academic result.

However, currently, the language part seems to be a base in the education and the science part is just like an additional part. First, as my opinion, those people who had entered into university are not exactly equal to smart indeed. As even somebody is a smart guy, however, if he/ she is not familiar with the examination mold or not good at taking exam, he/ she still cannot get a good result in the examination then not able to enter into campus. Therefore the statistic of entering universities is not really suitable for reflecting which gender is more smart.
Second, the development of girls and boys are differernt, for instance, during puberty, girls will start developing earlier than boys. It shows that girls may have better academic result in secondary school, however, in the university, the academic result of boys may be much greater than girls.

On one hand, boy and girl both are good at different subjects. For example: boy's result in which related logical subjects are better than girls. On the contrary, girl’s performance in which related to literature’s subjects are better than boy.

I have heard someone said girls are pre-mature, and they generally smarter than boys, but if we deeply think about that, their P.E and Mathematics result were often better than girls.
Also, we will have a wrong concept is girls always taller than boys, it is because in the stage of adolescent, girls may grow faster than boys, but after a period of time, the pace will slow down and that was the time to boys, nowadays, boys are particularly taller than girls.

To sum up, I disagree to this statement. It is because smartness cannot be judged by academic results, the ratio of female and male in HK is imbalanced and people’s strengths are different.
Some said that on average secondary school girls are smarter than boys. This is shown by a greater number of girls entering universities in HK. But I don’t agree with the statement with the following reasons.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, ‘Smart’ means someone has a quick intelligence, who is flexible in dealing the problem. Although most of the secondary school girls have a better academic result than the boys, it doesn’t mean girls are smarter than boys. As the academic result is just depending on students’ performance of examination, it cannot show how smart they. For example, a student has the best academic result in form. It is because the students work hard, and memorize all the content of text books. Therefore, she got high marks or even full marks in all subject of exam. However, she does not know how to overcome her adversities in her daily life. Thus, is she smart?
Second, as we know, most of the boys are good at science subjects, like mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, while girls are good at art or commercial subjects, such as Chinese, Visual Arts and Economic. As science subjects always do the investigations. It seems like boys have a quick intelligent than girls. Then, why we cannot say boys are smarter than girls?
Lastly, the number of female in HK is totally larger than the male. Meanwhile, the datum is in proportion to the ratio of male and female enter the universities in HK. So we cannot say girls are smarter than boys based on the number of entering universities.
To sum up, the greater number of girls entering universities in HK does not mean secondary school girls are smarter than boys due to boys and girls have different strength and the ratio of male and female are imbalanced.
There are some statistics showed that there is a greater number of girls entering universities in Hong Kong. As a result, some people said that on average secondary school girls are smarter than boys. But I do not agree with this statement. There is no any researches show that girls are smarter than boys during the stage of study in secondary school.

It means that it is a reasonable circumstance that the number of females going to the universities is greater than males. Under this situation, we cannot deduce that girls are smarter than boys on average secondary schools due to the number of females entering universities in Hong Kong. It is not fair to the males.
Second, some researches mentioned that boys tend to good at science subjects such as Physics and Chemistry while girls tend to good at liberal arts such as Chinese literature and English literature. In addition, males like something exciting and interesting while females like something romantic during adolescence. It makes the boys think that the liberal arts are so boring. The result of liberal arts is more important than science subjects for the students entering universities. It causes superiority for the girls when entering universities.
All in all, the number of girls in Hong Kong is greater than boys and females get better results in language subjects than males generally which causes superiority to females entering universities. We cannot conclude that girls are smarter than boys during the stage of study in secondary school due to the number of girls entering universities is greater than boys.

To consider a person's ability, we may check one's IQ so that we can know how smart he or she is by a more acceptable and scientific way.

ReplyDeleteOn one hand, boy and girl both are good at different subjects. For example: boy's result in which related logical subjects are better than girls. On the contrary, girl’s performance in which related to literature’s subjects are better than boy.
On the second hand, the number of males who can got six ‘A’ or above in HKCEE are more than females.

ReplyDeleteThe first account is the population of Hong Kong nowadays. Such there have been a various change between men and women. According to the statistics in Hong Kong by 2009, 1000 girls out of 896 boys. That means girls is more than boys. As a result, we can see girls smarter than boys. But, it doesn't show how secondary girls are better than the boys.
Furthermore, the second account is the learning attitudes and academic results. We all know boys are good at some mathematics subjects, such as Maths and Physics. Girls have just been good at the liberal arts like literature, English etc. However, I think we cannot focus on one side. Let me as an example. I am not good at Maths, but my English and Liberal Studies results have been q-good than some of our classmates. Also, some students in my class are good at liberal subjects than science subject. Eason is good at Chinese history, Philip is good at English etc. So, if anyone work harder, any subjects can give a greater results.
So, the conclusion is we cannot have actually index to say the average secondary school girls are smarter than boys. Therefore, I disagree with the above viewpoints.

In the past, girls had no opportunity to study much, so some people might think that if girls have that opportunity, they may be smarter than boys. No one knows! Every one is unique. In another word, boys and girls are totally different. I think girls and boys are good at different aspects separately. For example, girls’ personalities are more attentive and somehow quite. ReplyDeleteI have heard someone said girls are pre-mature, and they generally smarter than boys, but if we deeply think about that, their P.E and Mathematics result were often better than girls.
Also, we will have a wrong concept is girls always taller than boys, it is because in the stage of adolescent, girls may grow faster than boys, but after a period of time, the pace will slow down and that was the time to boys, nowadays, boys are particularly taller than girls.
Besides the physical aspect, sometimes I think boys are naïve and childish, their thinking maybe weaker than girls, because the thought of girls are always delicate and complex, but it doesn’t influent the wisdom of both boys and girls. We should refer to the thinking of them.
